Halloween Recap

Her is a recap of my Halloween.
*
I had lunch at the high school! I seriously love spending time with my new YL girls! So cute.
I went to one of their houses to pick them up this evening, when I got there 2 cute little boys were playing with baseball bats and there was a really cute little girl with them. Well the little girl walked right into the METAL baseball bat one boy was swinging and was crying and pretty confused. I got out of my car and told her that she needed to go home. She had a goose egg on her forehead that was HUGE, it was about 2" across and 1/2" raised. I guess she is doing fine later but it was a little hectic for a few minutes there.
*
I picked up three of my girls to go trick or treating at Chipotle and had a great time. We ended up going to 4 different locations. We brought all the extra burritos to 2 of the firehouses. We ate at the 2nd one with my husband, took a tour, went trick or treating in the neighborhood and then played in the fire truck. I took 42 photos throughout the evening! The girls had a great time, I am sure they all fell into bed as soon as they got home. They were all talking about how they had their best Halloween ever!! One of the mom's wanted me to take her car! So great since I didn't have to pay for gas!!!

Halloween

I am so excited that today is finally Halloween! We already had our costume club for Young Life this week. We spent 30 stressful minutes before at Party City trying to figure out a costume for me and my husband. He got in one of those moods where he wasn't interacting and was sulking around the store. He then found a great costume that put him in a good mood. Here are some of the photos from our evening.

The freshman girls, so cute. I am taking them to trick or treat tonight at Chipotle! They give you a free burrito if you go dresses as one. We are going to hit up 4 different locations on the way to the firehouse where we will bring the firefighters dinner.

Kim in the middle was a black eyed pea.

One of the other leaders

This kid did the best Joker impression I have EVER seen. My husband looked up the highest rated one on youtube and his was by far better.

This was the costume that made my husband VERY happy!

*

I found a padded muscle shirt and decided to go as my husband. I put on one of his fire shirt over my new muscles and put my hair under his fire hat. It was the best I could do 20 min before club.

Target impluse buys

Wow the $1 bin at Target is a trap of impulse buys but when everything is 50% the impulse becomes 100 times greater for me. Here is the list of things I bought tonight.
*
3 very cute children's books for my box
2 things of Halloween sprinkles
3 ink pads for the stamps I had bought from the same bins a few trips ago
2 blocks to put the stamps on
(have you seen these new kind of stamp that take up a lot less room?)
3 sheets of stickers
*
I also picked up 4, yes 4, bags of carmel apple suckers!
I had gone through the Halloween candy isle looking for them with no luck. I then was walking back and saw a bag in some lady's hand. I stood back and prayed she would put them back, she did just that!! Then I found that there were more bags hidden in the mess around where she found them... and that how I ended up buying 4 bags!
I love these because they are so great to have on hand when you are doing Weight Watchers and need something sweet. They use to carry them all year but recently have stopped.
*
When I was coming home my husband greeted me at the front door very curious as to what I had picked up in addition to the bag of suckers. I showed him my other impulse purchase of the day. I got a really beautiful candle holder, I will post a picture in a few days when I find the perfect place for it! I know that he approved of it because he didn't lecture me when I showed it to him. He would never tell me he actually likes it but I know he does.
*
I also FINALLY made it to the gym today! I checked my heart rate monitor to see the last date that I had worked out I almost fell over when I realized it was the 3rd of last month, almost 2 full months ago. That is so sad but what can you do? I was only able to get in 20 min on the treadmill before the gym closed but every little step helps right. I was able to run for about 12 minutes straight before I started walking. Not too bad since I just ran my first straight mile ever this spring. I also burned 200 calories and was still under my points for the day!!
*
We leave Wednesday for my cousin's wedding so I figured I could use some work before our trip. I think I may wear my black strapless embossed J Crew dress, the one they release every summer. Is this to casual/summery for a November wedding?

Birthday pictures!

So my friend Becky also took photos at my party! She sent them to me today. Good thing they are cuter than the ones that I deleted off my camera.

I thought my husband was over his silly faces phase but apparently he is not yet. Seriously all the photos from us starting as friends to right up till we got engaged he closed his eyes and opened his mouth... he thought it was SO funny.

Me with my Guinness and the girls with their tea because it was so cold. Becky the one in the middle is pregnant!! I can't wait to meet her new little girl!!!! It was Bella's first time in a bar, I am corrupting a fetus, oops.

According to my husband this was my birthday cake.

oops the flame rolled off

Sorry in advance, random post

Sorry I have a million random things bouncing around in my head right now and I am going to hit on a few.

We got to spend the day with 3 of our favorite kids! I am actually watching them twice a week in the afternoon to help pay off our credit cards. I love the days when my husband comes to play with us. This picture is of Eli and my husband playing with her new princesses before the two older boys got home from school. He loves her and I think/know he is one of her first crushes.

This is a picture collage in our guest room, it needs to be straightened. I asked my husband to hang the last frame but he discovered it wasn't designed to hang the way I had planned. Does this happen in anyone else's house, things just sit waiting to be hung?
*
Mojito Maven posted a blog today about wedding photos and asked if a collage of wedding photos is too over the top. Click here to read her post.
*
I figured I would show her and you some of the ways I have decorated with our wedding photos. I actually plan on posting some other photos of our place as soon as I get a spare moment to organize everything.

This is over our bed! We ordered it from Pottery Barn with a gift card we received as a wedding present. I would like to have a calligrapher write our names or monogram and wedding date on the mat.

These photos are in our hallway leading to our bedroom. I got the frames for $12 each at T J Max and plan on using them when we have a house for kids pictures... someday. I got the idea from a model home. Here is picture of it.

This is a plate rack I got in high school, the frames use to be different bright colors but I painted them to fit in our living room.
These are the roses my husband bought me for my birthday! I rearranged them today to make them last longer. Did you know if you recut them and make sure the leaves are out of the water it will make them last longer!!

Google reader

I know that a lot of my fellow bloggers have been talking about google reader and how overwhelming it is to see how many posts you have to read to get caught up.  I feel the same way as well but I didn't know about reader, I was trying not to miss a post by clicking and opening a new tab from dashboard for every blog that I follow.  Now that I know about google reader I feel a lot less pressure but I also feel like I am missing part of the experience when I just read the posts in more of an e-mail form.  I find that I start reading and have to minimise the post to remind myself what blog it is from. I love that I know I am not missing out but at the same time I miss all the character of each individual blog. Does anyone else feel the same?

Sad event

My husband just came in to inform me that our beloved dog, Ridley, had fallen off the retaining wall that is about three feet tall on her last trip out of the day. He said she landed not on her feet but on her side and that she was licking her wounds that were by now bleeding. This is the first time she has been injured or sick. I never really thought that I would be this sad about a dog getting hurt.
If you look at her leg closely in this picture you can see that she is bleeding in two spots. I just have to laugh though when I look at this picture and see his worry lines on my husband's forehead... he really will be such an amazing father, someday.
Sorry for so many posts today. I just was so sad I had to share what had happened.

Monday night TV

So I am just killing so time and putting of doing laundry and decided watching gossip girl is the perfect way to kill an hour. I gotta say I love how curvy Blake Lively is! She is skinny but the girl has hips!! It is so nice to see this represented in fashion and pop culture.

Skinny I know but still more of a womanly figure than most

I loved when I just found this picture, no one is perfect.

No pictures

So I was planning on putting up my photos from my birthday party as soon as I found my camera. I found my camera today but ended up deleting all the photos on it. Who knew formatting meant delete all of your pictures, not me. I will post photos if I can manage to dig some up from my friends... this may take a while though.
Hope everyone had a great Monday!

Halfway to 30!

Wow I can't believe that I am 25! Yesterday was my big golden birthday, 25 on the 25th! I can remember talking about when our golden birthday was when I was little so needless to say I have been looking forward to this day for a long time.
*
My husband surprised me with beautiful red roses when I got home from the house that I was house sitting at. He then indulged me with letting me drag him to all the stores that he normally complains about to help me find a shirt for my party that evening. He was such a good sport! I ended up getting a great new jacket from Anthropologie. I really was looking more for a going out shirt but was happy that evening when we realized we didn't plan on the entire bar being so crammed that we had to sit on the patio. It would have been really cold if I hadn't gotten it. We still had lots of fun though. At one point though we had a really interesting conversation where EVERYONE was trying to convince me that I should try and get pregnant. I can't tell you how weird it was since I have always had baby fever but don't feel like the timing is God's plan for us. Also I forgot to mention why we have baby furniture already, it was my god daughter's and it was time for her to get a big girl bed. When I told my Mother about the conversation today she was asking me more and was concerned that we have been married for two and a half years and have yet to get pregnant. (She is a nurse) Is there anyone else out there who was not using anything for this long and didn't have fertility problems? Please reassure me.
*
My friend Becky was so sweet and got me a WoodWick candle. It sounds like a fire when it is lit, so great since we don't have a fireplace!
*
Today I am all done house sitting!!!!! I really enjoy living in an amazing house for a week but I am SO happy to be back at home. Seriously it is so hard to be living out of a suitcase at someone else house. I also really hate the last day that is full of packing and cleaning and making sure that everything is back in order. I went to go wash the sheets on my bed today and discovered that their front load washer had molded since it was closed for eight days. Ah I hate it when things go wrong when I am at someone else house.
*
I wrote this yesterday and was hoping to find my camera so I could post photos. I can't find it but will post birthday photos as soon as I find it.
Also the title of my post is a Jessica Simpson quote.

What to do?

Tonight my husband indulged me and took me to do one of my favorite things. We went to Babies R' Us and just walked around looking at the stuff, mostly bedding! He thinks I am so silly but he loves me and lets me drag him into there and Pottery Barn Kids.

One of our trips to PBK's, he looks so goofy in this photo.

Now I will let you in on our secret... We have baby furniture stored in a friend's basement for our future children!! The following picture is the changing table we have stored. We don't have those baskets though.
Here are a few ideas of what we can do with it for a baby room!!
Ours is white not brown, you get the idea though.

Now here is what I discovered today on our outing. The bins I had planned on registering for when we are expecting are now on sale at BRU. They were $15 each but now are $10. I would like to get 4 white ones for the upper storage area. I really love the green but I am not sure what color bedding I will pick when that day does come. White is safe I figure.
Do I just buck up and get 4 of them now and just use them or do I just wait and hope to find something else when the day does come?
This is a photo I took when I first found the bins!
This is the bedding I really liked today!
Now I will let you in on another secret. My husband has baby fever more than I do right now! I really wanted to wait until we went on a trip this summer but now we are not really sure we will go on our trip anymore. He is two and a half years older than me so as the big 30 looms in the next few years I think he thinks more about having kids sooner than later.

For my husband my birthday wish list

Dear hubby if you are looking for something to get me for my BIG Golden Birthday, 25 on the 25th! Here are some ideas that make my heart beat a little faster!
To add to my collection!
Something a little different than my usual Tiffany's jewelry!

A purse from J Crew and it's green! That combines three of my favorite things!

This has been on my wish list for over 2 years!

A new Favorite

Love them but they are extremely heavy.

too much red wine

Wow I am not feeling super great today, too much red wine last night.
Also last evening I was taking a bath and the dogs chewed through the straps on my bra, goodbye $40. I didn't even realize they were chewing on it.
*
Back to today though. I took a mortgage fraud class today and really enjoyed it. I also learned that most of the time it is the clients who need to be responsible when they are taking out a loan or making a huge purchase. If something seems fishy ask and always look over your loan documents.
*
On another note I thought I would put these pictures up! They are my friends baby room that she painted herself. It is a little boys room but would work great for either sex.

In other exciting news Mojito Maven over at Make Mine a Mojito is celebrating her 100th post! She has a great giveaway of jewelry! Click here to find out more.

Pottery Barn house as promised

Here are the photos of the house I am house sitting at. The woman works at Pottery Barn and does their displays. The house is more amazing in person than these pictures show.

The dogs, the reason I am there. Seriously house sitting is such good money!
The outside, they love their halloween decorations!

This is the guest room where I am staying. My husband and both slept here last night with both dogs. Way too small of a bed for all of us.

The kitchen table is a high one, I want one when we move!

I like how they have tile through out the main floor, I like and have hardwood floors but like that this is different.

Life size, my husband was worried I would get scared by this at night in the dark. It is right outside my door.

LOVE the rug!

The master bedroom

Master bath, my plan for tonight! It snowed for a few min today here in Denver.

The older girls room.
There is a chandelier in every bedroom!
The younger girls room. She loves horses and there is real rope twisted around on the walls around the room.
Love the crown molding with the pink ceiling.

Sydney with her cupcake hat, very cute!
My go-to outfit when its cold. The jacket has amazing details.
