Even Closer

I am not really one for new years resolutions but I have decided to make a hopefully life changing decision.

After 3 nights of terrible sleep I have decided to make myself get out of bed in the morning at 8 and make sure that I go to bed at 11 every night instead of 1 or 2 am. Sounds crazy and ridged but I need some structure in my life. Right now I can get up and go to bed whenever I want, I can also spend all day doing whatever I please. Sounds fun but unstructured is only fun for a few days. I find that I get nothing done and that my place is a mess even though I have tons of free time. I have to say I had a great night of sleep and even woke up 5 minutes before my alarm went off even though it was my first time waking up early.

As I mentioned a few days ago I have been working really hard on getting our place cleaned up and more importantly organized. If everything has a place it makes keeping our place clean so much easier. Our place is almost there! Here is an updated photo of our guest room. Hubby and I will be filing the box of papers that is in the bottom left below my goofy of a husband. The right boxes are just empty storage boxes, I love having extras on hand. Big lots has great ones for cheap as much as I hate going there.
I would also like to introduce you to my favorite thing.

It's called the shark VX3 and yes you may have seen it on an infomercial. It is amazing as they say, it picks up everything and fits under hard to reach places. I was so confused before as how to reach the super dusty carpet under our bed. I guess the reason I love it most is it is amazing on my hardwood floors and can do carpet as well. I just pull it out of the closet and turn it on since it is cordless and so light. I pulled out my regular vacuum after I had purchased this and remembered why I never vacuumed before. The only thing that I would complain about with it is you have to charge it for a full 24 hours when you first get it, before you use it. You can get it at Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon.

My husband just informed me that he sees me using this all the time whereas he had never seen me use my vacuum. He also was very upset when I got my shark because it did the same thing as a vacuum. Don't let your boys fool you, it is so much better.

Wow I just wrote about my vacuum, I am sorry and shocked I have followers.

I have also decided that I need to change something in my dog's life as well. This is where you would typically find my dog.

All that she does anymore is sleep and maybe pop in when we are eating. We have had to start pulling her out of bed and closing our door so that she will stay out of bed. I decided that she needs to be walked at least twice a day. We own a 2nd floor condo so this doggie gets very little outside time. (I know we are terrible for not doing this sooner.) I started yesterday evening and she was so happy on our walk and was played with her bear (that is twice the size of her) when we got home. It was like she was a whole new dog.

I decided that if it is cold enough out for mommy to wear a hoodie and a jacket Ridley gets at least 1.

That's a great goal! I'm working on a routine as well!

I'm in between jobs right now since our recent moves and agree that setting a routine, even with sleep helps. I could lightly sleep all morning but I set an alarm and get up at 7:30 a.m. It really does help start your day better!

That cover your chi-chi is in looks a lot like ours. I think we bought it at Bed Bath & Beyond a few years ago. I love it b/c I can bleach it! Your doggie is precious! We have 2 chi-chi's & live in a second story apartment, so our dogs are suffering too.
I love your blog & your Weight Watchers blog. I visit them everyday. My twin sister (Becky Branch) had told me about you & how much success you had with WW. It has really motivated me to "get back into it". I'm trying to post a bit on my blog b/c I think if I write about it, it will help me follow through. Just wanted to let you know I <3 your blogs!

I completely understand what you mean about unstructured time. I nanny for a baby at my own house and even though I have tons of free time, I hardly ever seem to get anything done. It's terrible!

Thanks for the post...it's inspiring me to set more of a schedule for myself!

Your dog is so cute!

Great idea to set a routine! I think maybe I should start this as well, nothing productive comes of a day where you go to bed at 1 or 2 and sleep in until 11! I'm so happy that your pup loves the walks so much as well, that cute little coat is so fun! Hope you're having a great week!

I have the same go to bed at 2 in the morning sleep till 12 and by the time I get ready the day is almost gone. This is my first non-workday- day that I got up at 8 am. I'm so proud of my self. and I have accomplished so much in just a couple of hours.

Fantastic!! I need to start walking my puppies too. I have no excuse! We have a nice yard, and I've just let that be my reasoning: 'well, they don't need to go on walks, they can run around in the yard". I'm a slacker pet parent.... I was actually better when we lived in an apartment and had no yard--I would take them out every coupld hours! Yikes.
