Momma's Birthday

On Savannah's 2 week birthday we celebrated my 29th birthday! My Mom took off all week to help me out while my husband returned to work so we went to lunch at PF Chang's to celebrate.
Gotta love a good glass of wine at lunch.
Savannah was an angel that day! The night before she even slept from 1 am to 8:30 in the morning!
She even got to meet two of her cousins.
Her cousin Aspen who is only 3 weeks older than her.
 Brothers with their daughters.
Savannah also saw her first snow!

Photo dump

I figure a photo dump is the best way to catch up...
I've finally started to show, it's much more apparent in certain dresses like the one above.
Others need a little help otherwise they just look puffy.
I had a long 12 hour day last week and while I was gone my sweet husband had completely remade the bed, duvet cover and all.  He commented on how it took him 45 minutes to change it all.  I love when he realizes why I need his help sometimes to make things easier.
Just a sweet photo of Ridley snuggling with her bear.  She could care less about any other dog toys or stuffed animals but she loves this bear.
I've been loving the Starbucks happy hour and this cute sample I got one day! The Mocha Cookie Crumble is a new favorite!
We honored the graduating seniors last week. I am so proud of what amazing women they are becoming!
This is my last year leading Young Life, it's a little bittersweet but after seven years of leading, more than 1/2 of my girls graduating and a baby on the way it is time to say goodbye.  I most likely will lead a small group second semester next year though for my 6 remaining girls who will be seniors.

19 week bump photo, I am in an awkward stage of growing my bangs out so that my hair will be easiest when the baby is here.  I gave into maternity clothes yesterday but I can't decide if I love or hate them.
Yesterday our office and all of Keller Williams Realty gave back to the community.  My group did crafts and face painting with the kids at Children's Hospital.
Sadly I had to wear this mask the entire time because I had the stomach flu last week and so that I didn't catch anything.

A few of my favorite beauty items

I've disclosed this before on the blog a couple of years ago, I have terrible skin.  For years I got huge cysts that would hurt so terribly that I would pick at them until they bleed.  In the last 6 months though I have found two items that I can not go without because they make that big of a difference in my skin.

The first one is so simple it is silly really....

Plain old ivory soap!
$1.99 for 3 bars, cheap good old bars of Ivory soap.
People don't believe me when I tell them what a difference it's made but it's been huge.  People insist that over time it is going to dry out my face but all I've experienced in a year of the dry Colorado climate is it clearing up my skin.

The second find is the Clarisonic which cancels out the great price of the soap since it is over $100. It took over a year for me to actually splurge on this item but I'm glad I did.  If your on the fence look at the reviews on Amazon of how much people love theirs.

One of the best things about both is that I don't have to worry about the chemicals I am putting on my skin.  Most of the skin care acne systems are not safe during pregnancy but I don't have to worry about these.

16 weeks already

It is so hard to believe I am already 16 weeks pregnant.  Everyone kept telling me so much changes when you hit 12 weeks so I really looked forward to it but truthfully it feels like nothings has changed at all since I'm still barely showing and still throwing up.  It all worth it though and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

We have started shopping for the key pieces for baby already and today was devoted to finding a rocker.  I really want a comfortable one that can someday be used in another area of our house.  I loved the shape and feel of this one (we would do green cording) but the back wasn't high enough for it comfortable to rest in while rocking or feeding.

We also loved the next one but it was much more expensive because it was a recliner and I don't see myself using the extra feature enough to justify the extra money.

I think we settled on the following one because it has almost everything we are looking for.

We will order in the the following fabric though so it will have a feel much more like the first one than the way it looks now in the current fabric.

If anyone had a best chair I'd love to hear what you think or if you've found a great brand of rockers like these that are under $1,000 I'd love to hear about them.  We are trying to stay away from the babies r us ones though because the reviews are so bad (if you've loved yours though and had no problems let me know).

One thing we already bought was our stroller.  So many of our friends have the bob and love it so it was a no brainer when we realized we could use our once yearly REI 20% off coupon to buy it.  We even got to try it out with our goddaughter today at the park.

My husband decided it needed to be able to handle anything including bouldering.

Our April Fools Day Joke

Well you guys are already in on our secret that we are pregnant.  One of the first things I did when I figured out I was pregnant was to look when 12 weeks was and when we could make it public.  I realized that our April fools day joke from last year would play perfectly into our announcement this year.

Last year I convinced my husband to steal one of our friend's ultrasound photos of her twins from online and post it as our profile photos.  The comments and the calls started rolling in all day.  Let's just say people are still talking about it today!

Once I realized that we would just have to wait a week and half after we hit the 12 week mark to announce it on facebook both my husband and I knew we had to pull the prank again this year but with our real ultrasound.

The comments are rolling in but the ones of us who know the truth are laughing to ourselves. They seem to be the ones who are liking the photo and not commenting. Here is a sample of the comments we are getting...

If I remember correctly I thought you were pg last April 1st. : )

Wow so from twins to a singleton. Your April fools jokes are lessening.

Hmm.. I don't see your name anywhere on there...
(funny because the ultrasound came that way without my name on it)

Same joke two years in a row? Come on, step up your game! :)

I even had a friend who doesn't know it is real steal the photo and do the same prank.
Late tonight or even tomorrow morning we will let them in on the joke but until then we are laughing to ourselves.
