Cloud Nine

I am on cloud nine right now! Saturday night I was out celebrating Saint Patrick's Day at a friend's house and ended up meeting someone who thought I would be perfect for a job opening at the company that she works for. I received a call today from the owner of the company saying he was really interested in talking to me! I have been thinking about trying to find a full time job so that we could completely pay off all of our debt and better our future. We would be able to start thinking about purchasing a bigger home and have the down payment to do so. It would also be easier to have piece of mind when thinking about kids if we didn't have any debt.
I am trying to enter this decision prayerfully and only if it is right for me.

Speaking of debt I was told the other day by the owner of the real estate company I work for "Credit card debt is a fact of life, you will always have it." I was FLOORED by this comment. We are working really hard to free ourselves from these mistakes. I feel like if you have this mindset aren't you always playing catch up?

I wish you all the best with the possible new job. And we are doing the same, getting rid of debt and saving to buy a bigger home. One day at time...we'll definitely get there soon!! :)

Yes!! Credit card debt is NOT something all people have. You aren't supposed to buy things you can't afford or don't have the money to! Hello!

I'm so glad you have this opportunity! Good luck!

That is great news! I hope everything works out for the best!

Best wishes for the new job! I disagree with that real estate agent not everyone has cc debit. If I can't pay for something right then I don't buy it. No debt here!

Yikes! I'm afraid so many people have that in mind thinking that cc debt is the norm. Glad you don't think that way! Best of luck with the job situation! God has His way of working those things out!!!

My fiance and I both want to be completely debt free...hence I'm working full time for the first year of our marriage.

Best wishes on the job!

Congratulations on the job! I hope that it's something that you love. I'm as floored as you are about that credit card debt comment. I guess that's more proof that we live in a grossly over indulgent society. When will people learn?

I agree with you - I think credit card debt or any debt really is too much. We have been good about not building up credit card debt, but we both have student loans and are paying those off as fast as we can. I think there is something very freeing about not owing someone money! I think the only debt that I really think would be "normal" or good is a house mortgage (as long as you keep making payments!) Good luck with job possibility - I hope God makes it clear to you what He wants for you!

Wow, that is insane!! The only kind of debt that is remotely okay to have is a mortgage. Even that is best paid off as soon as possible! That is so sad that so many people think that CC debt is okay. Ugh.

Congrats on the job opportunity, I am crossing my fingers and praying for you that it all works out. I am desperately trying to save up as much as possible before kids, too :)

Congratulations on the job possibility! And no not everyone has credit card debt. Mortgage and student loans are the only ones I know that are that prevalent and 'normal' because lets face it there are A LOT of people in debt to Sallie Mae...Sallie Mae owns us right now :( and for the next several years

Good luck with the job! Cradit card debt is NOT a fact of life. My husband and I only owe on our student loans and are pushing to be finished with those in two years.
