Valentine's Day

Remember me?
Yeah, I unintentionally took a little break from blogging. It was nice and needed but I'm glad to be back! For Valentine's Day we decided to stay a few nights in the mountains and go up snowboarding.
I was petrified to board again after 3 years of not going up at all. I own my own board though so it didn't make sense to rent skis. So petrified I couldn't even open up my eyes at the top...
Either that or my husband just took the photo at the wrong time.
I actually ended up loving snow boarding again and picked it up right where I left off. See I have a smile on this time...
We even ended up going through the trees on one of our runs. I had always heard about snowboarders riding through the trees but I could never understand how they did it. The very thought of doing it myself was unimaginable. I loved it though!
Taking a break in the trees.
Hubby hit a soft spot, good thing he didn't get stuck.
More smiles at lunch.

While we were up there we stayed at his family's cabin.
The lower level has bedrooms and the upper level has the living area and master bedroom. I can't wait to go up again for a few more snowboard days and to bring friends up! Can't wait to see this view of the lake this summer.
Another photo from Valentine's Day
One of the best parts though is that we got to bring Ridley. She was so confused all three days but this was her favorite part of our trip.
My husband's Grandfather caught this and many others and has them mounted on the walls. Creepy but a cool accomplishment for him.

Wow, this is just so beautiful! I've never seen snow like that before! I live in Dallas and a few weeks ago we got about a foot of snow but nothing compared to that! I really want to go back to Colorado though. I went to YL camp one summer at Crooked Creek and it was just heaven on earth! Then when I was a leader I could never go to camp :(. Tears..I gotta get some Colorado in my life!

Love that second picture of you!
