DIY Mani/Pedi

It has been so long since I have splurged on a pedicure much less a manicure so when Groupon offered a mani/pedi for only $22 I was all in. I love the look of having my nails professionally done but it really isn't realistic for me to consistently do right now. Even if we had the money my finger nails grow ridiculously fast and it looks terrible in only a few days. I feel like a pedicure is much more practical for me because it lasts weeks rather than three days. I have decided to get better at painting my nails so that they look manicured without spending the money. I've learned a few things lately.

Your not splurging on the manicure so splurge on the polish. OPI lasts so much longer than cheaper nail polishes, don't forget the base coat and top coat as well. Ulta always has sales on OPI.
*
Practice makes perfect, don't give up after one try. I have learned to start just before the cuticle because if you use it as the starting point the polish pools there and makes a funny line. Also don't wipe off too much of the polish. OPI has great brushes that hold the right amount of polish.

Coral is super hot right now but the coral I picked for my toes looks too red for me, I wanted pinker. The lady next to me had on such a fun color that is topping my summer must have list...
Go On Green
Great pedicure color, a little too wild for fingers for me.

My best tip for your feet though...
This foot cream does wonders for your feet. Put it on with socks at night and after a few days your feet will look like you just got a pedicure. Using it consistently is the key. I use to have terribly cracked feet but now you can't even tell.

Do you have any more tips for me or hot summer colors I must try?

I love the color you have. Another great green I've been wearing is OPI Jade is the New Black. It's darker and doesn't look as young on. As far as the top coat I'm actually going to tell you to stray from OPI. I'm a life long lover of all things OPI but the Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat is the best thing since sliced bread. It keeps the vinyl shine forever and seriously dries freshly painted nails completely in about 10 minutes. I can't live without it now. :) XOXO

I love DIY mani/pedis - makes you feel special and saves money too. I totally agree with OPI polish. I've converted to all OPI for my French mani/pedi and it always works best.

Hello! I just came across your blog and I absolutely love it! That green color is absolutely fabulous! I also saw that WW helped you lose weight, that's awesome! I am currently doing weight watchers and have been for awhile, but have hit a huge plateau and my wedding is coming up in august so I am kind of freaking out!

Enjoy your Sunday and you now have a new follower!
