How I learned I can read lips

I figured I would share with you my amusing story from the gym to help all of you out with your resolutions.
I was running on the treadmill and decide I would plug my iPhone earphones in so I could watch tv while I ran. I wasn't on my normal set of treadmills and really wasn't happy about having to use a totally new brand. (They are all so different and when you get use to one its weird to switch.) All of a sudden I felt a shock that came through my headphones right to my ear. I was so shocked literally and figuratively but figured I was just going crazy, until I felt it again. I threw off my headphones and complained to the teenager who knew absolutely nothing about the equipment. I switched machines but I was still on the same brand, was it the one I was on or the headphones I was using? I soon learned that it was most likely the combination of using iPhone headphones with that brand of treadmill. I have never had that problem with my normal ones. I continued to run but just read the subtitles. I soon realized the subtitles were behind but I already knew what they had said by reading their lips!
Just another adventure at the gym. I swear every time I go there is something or someone interesting going on. One of these times it will be me falling off the treadmill and I am sure it is inevitable.

Sorry you were shocked! The other day my husband and I went to the gym. He got an iPhone not too long ago, but he hadn't used the headphones for it bc he uses his nano headphones. Anyway...unable to find his nano headphones that morning, he took his iPhone ones. Just a minute after plugging them into the treadmill he was shocked! He let it happen twice as well before jerking them off. So, maybe its not the brand of treadmill, but just the iPhone headphones combined with any treadmill? Not sure what brand we were using. Anyway...just to let you know you're not alone! Hope you had a great workout!

I would have screamed like a child if that happened to me! That stinks and I feel you on having a particular brand you like. I refuse to run on anything other than MY treadmill at the gym :)

I hate when I have to use a different treadmill than my usual. And, um, during the summer, during a rather early workout session, I did in fact fall off the treadmill. Luckily, the gym was pretty empty, but, I'm still horrified by the memory.
