Girls I know how many of you love Redeeming Love as much as I do. I have been thinking about starting at book club/bible study with a group of freshman in high school and starting with this book. They all loved Twilight and I am thinking they would love Redeeming Love as well.

This is where you come in. I want to make sure it isn't to mature for little 14 year old girls who parents are still very protective. Does it go into detail or is it touched on but not in detail? I have read it but it has been a while and I can't remember how graphic it is for the life of me. Also have you read any other Christian books that you would recomend for this age group
If you haven't read this book I would highly recommend it.

i loved redeeming and love and read it again right after i read it the first time.
it's not "graphic," but my only concern is that some of these girls may not have made the kinds of mistakes that make redeeming love so powerful and healing for older college/young adult/older adult women. my mom just read it and really loved it and my aunt leads a women's bible study and they used the book. i'm sorry that i don't have another recommendation for you that may be more age appropriate.
some other bloggers may disagree with me and say it's perfectly fine for high school freshmen. i would say that it's perfect for college freshmen. good luck with your book club/bible study! these girls are lucky to have you as a mentor in their lives!
Hmm, I need to read this book!
I LOVE Redeeming Love. It is a great book! But I agree with Blue-Eyed Bride. It might be a little too much for this age group. But then again I'm not around 14 year olds very often...
I would love to attend a bible study about this book.
I read this book that young and it was wonderful! It depends on where your girls are in maturity.
I'm not familar with Redeeming Love but am headed out this afternoon to run a few errands and will pick it up!
I'm going to have to check it out - thanks for the recommendation!!
I just left you an award on my blog too!! :)
This is my favorite book of all time! I let my stepdaughter read it when she was 10...I look back now and can't believe I did that...obviously 10 is way too young. She did love it, though, and passed it along to her mom, who also loved it. I recently let my small group of girls borrow the book (they are juniors in high school) and they loved it. I don't know about 14 year old...that's a tough one. Maybe see what their mom's think. Anyway, I think it's great you want to do a book club on this book! Hope you are wonderful!
Hi! Just found your blog and love it! Redeeming Love is one of my favorites, but I agree with the other commenters. It isn't necessarily graphic but maybe too mature. Have you read the trilogy by Francine Rivers? The first one is A Voice in the Wind. I think it would be a good one with high schoolers. Captivating is also a great book for young girls, but it isn't the same type of book that Rivers' books are. Good luck...what a great idea :)
