This summer I seem to be devouring any book that I can get my hands on. I have been reading one and have been listening to another on tape for when I work out.
*
I just listened to this on tape... It was decent but not my favorite. I think it may have something to do with the reader of the tape. She read it so fast that you didn't have time to process what was being said.
I listened to Water for Elephants before that since a friend highly recommended it. It was very different from what I normally read but I enjoyed it.
Currently I am listening to Love the One Your With. I was pretty sceptical about this one but I was still hopeful that I would like it. I am about half way through and I am really enjoying it! I can't wait to "read" her other books.
(My husband says I can't say that I read them because I listen to them.)
These are ones I have actually read...
The two I have finished are the stories of Tamar and Bathsheba.
The cover says...
One of the five unlikely women who changed eternity.
They were both so inspiring that I can't wait to finish the rest of the series.
The author is the same one who wrote Redeeming Love, one of the most amazing books ever. If you haven't read it you need to pick it up.

I also have the Time Travelers Wife waiting for me to read before I see the movie!

Are there any more amazing books out there I should order from the library?

I have recently read (and loved):
*Can You Keep a Secret (audiobook) by Sophie Kinsella
*The 19th Wife (I forget who it's by.)
*The Double Bind by Chris Boj...
(I forget how to spell it.)
Ohhh I love talking books. I enjoy true stories, although not all these listed here are.
Some of my favorites are:
-Into Thin Air: John Krakauer (not sure how this would be on audio book?) Excellent Read!
-Come Back: Claire Fontaine
-Kabul Beauty School: Deborah Rodriguez (Interesting read about Women in Afghanistan although, I disagree with almost all of the decisions the author made in her personal life).
On my to read list:
-The Shack: William P. Young
-Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel: Jerry Oppenhein
I am going to have to add these to my reading list!
I will have to check out those Francine Rivers books. I loved Redeeming Love. I have been doing reviews on my blog. You can find them under the label book worm if you are interested.
Last summer I read "Love The One Your With” and I really enjoyed it. It got me hooked on to Emily Giffin's writing and I have now read all of her books. I definitely recommend “Something Blue" and "Baby Proof". They are great summer reads.
Good choices-- love Emily Giffin and Water for Elephants is so good! I am in the same boat as you I am just flying through books this summer. I was actually going to do a similar post today about it!
