Did I save money or spend it?

I just played the grocery game again tonight. I had to go to a 24 hour Walgreens because tonight was the last night of this weeks sale items. It was good though because it was slow and less stressful that a busy one. It took me a lot longer this time and it was a little stressful figuring out all the coupons and where to find them since there were so many, Walgreens has a coupon mailer and an in store one in addition to coupons from the paper. I saved some cash but I am not sure that I would have bought all of the items normally. They were things that would be nice to have but not must purchase items such as carpet spot cleaner. I've never bought three boxes of tampons at once but I have also never gotten three for the price of one. I think it will really be nice once we get our stockpiles going but it will take some time to do since you are purchasing when items go on sale rather than when you run out and usually two of an item at a time. The other thing about Walgreens is that they give you cash coupons for money off your next purchase but I feel like this time it added to our cost. I do have $11 though for next time that I won't have to spend.

I have been thinking about doing the grocery game, but I can't decide! A friend of mine does it and swears by it. I feel like it might end up buying things I wouldn't necessarily have bought too!

completely understand!! Sometimes I feel the urge buy stuff that I normally would not have included on my grocery list and end up thinking, "did I save money or spend extra money?"

sometimes I feel the same way, I used a bunch of coupons last weekend which saved me a ton of money but I ended up buying things we normally wouldn't get...

I have not jumped on the coupon bandwagon yet but I'm thinking about it. I've heard lots of success stories!
