What I learned about camera's

One of my Christmas presents this year was a new camera from my Mom!
I knew that when you purchase a SLR camera that you go Nikon or Canon so I was so excited when I unwrapped my new Nikon COOLPIX S220. I figured the same brands would be best for point and shoot cameras.
This is the quality of the better photos I got...
My iPhone takes better pictures than that...
(Fooling around in Forever 21 last week with my YL girls.)
Today my mom and I headed to Costco to return the camera and get cash back so that I could get a Canon that got good reviews. My husband came across the one that I wanted though and said it was pretty big for a point and shoot so I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do...
Luckily a woman who works at Costco overheard our complaint and recommended getting a Panasonic. I was very hesitant but all the things she told me about the brand sounded great.
One of the selling points was that they use the same glass Leica lenses that the SLRs use. I guess most other brands are made out of plastic that scratches and get yucky over time.
Here is the camera I got...
Just a quick shot from it, a huge improvement over the last camera...
Yes, Christmas stuff still needs to come down. It's on tomorrow's list.

Lumix really are great cameras. A friend owns one and she just raves about it!

I had the same issue with a Kodak digital camera a few years ago! I left mine at home and bought a new one because we were headed to my cousin's wedding. I don't have ANY good pictures from her wedding. When I returned it they told me it was probably just defective, but I held on to my money and purchased a different camera later on.

I have used a digital SLR (Canon) for years and wanted a small portable camera that I could keep in my purse at all times. I got the Panasonic Lumix which is a GREAT camera. The lens is the biggy but it also is a wide angle with a 12x zoom. You did good, real good!

Oh camera shopping stresses me out to no end! We need to get a new one for the baby and I just don't even know where to start. I thought I wanted a Canon Rebel but really - I have no clue!! I'm glad you found a good one - the picture looks great! And girl - I've still got all sorts of Christmas decor up! I NEED to get it down!!

Happy New Year!! XOXO

My sis has a Nikon Coolpix 220 and i love hers. So since I complained about my camera not taking good pics and bored her camera probably 100 times last year, she got me the Nikon Coolpix s220 for Cmas.

Some of my pics are blurred like yours were. owever, after I played with the settings a bit, I got them better. :)

I think you got a lemon or it was on some weird setting because I use a Nikon and have had several of them and the have all been GREAT. Anyway, enjoy your new camera.
