image is everything

In September I did a post about visiting with an image consultant to help me with my business. You can read the post by clicking here.
The biggest thing I wanted to work on was overcoming being in my mid twenties and the negative effect that can have on clients perception when buying such a large purchase as a home. I am an expert at what I do but does my image and first impression clearly show that?

Wearing structured clothing has been the biggest thing I've worked on. I came across a great example that really gave me clarification of why structure is so important. I was out showing million dollar listings and came across another agent that was only a few years younger than me. She really knew her stuff but she wasn't dressed for the job. She looked like she could fit in with my high school kids on a dressier day rather than selling real estate. She was dressed in a long sleeve thin cotton short, a poofy skirt that was very young and moccasin slippers.

The following examples are both great dresses that could be worn for work.
Both great but they portray such different images.
The same is true of a sweater vs a jacket.
I love my sweaters especially the the ones like this but I will be skipping them when it comes to dressing for work on days when I will be dealing with clients or potential clients.
All images from Target.

Great post. I deal with this exact issue. I feel like the way you dress, not only makes you look like you are better at the job you are doing, but actually makes you better at the job you are doing. Gives ya a little confidence!

The fit vs. loose is a great example of what a big difference style makes!
